6 pita breads
olive oil, for brushing
80ml tomato sauce
300g Mozzarella cheese, torn or grated
4-6 sausages of your choice (see tip), sliced
1 avocado, cubed
Preheat oven to 200°C. Heat a griddle or frying pan on high, brush the pitas with oil and cook for about 3 minutes per side until charred (save time by using more than one pan if you can).
Spread the pita pizza bases with the tomato sauce and sprinkle the cheese and then the sausages over. Bake for about 10 minutes until the cheese has melted. Serve with avocado on top.
Use sausages like frankfurters, viennas or cooked boerewors. For an adult version, try chorizo sausages and the basic tomato sauce recipe, instead of tomato sauce.
